5 x 14 Maple - Blue Pearl

This wrap was another "out of print" wrap that I'd purchased from Precision Drum - a great blue pearl. The shell is a 5 x 14 8 ply maple from Twin Cities Percussion (impressed with the quality of their shells). New Beavertail style lugs from Drum Factory Direct, ditto for the strainer. For now I've put a set of black nickel hoops on to see how they look, but will likely switch them out for chrome hoops. Generic wires. Still need to put the badge on it but I wanted to get some pictures up ... (PS the badge is on now ...)

Also have some recent acquisitions I need to get pictures taken of and put up - a 5 x 14 Slingerland Gene Krupa COB; 8 x 14 Pearl maple with "supersensitive" type throw (80's); and a very cool RoyalStar 5 x 14 steel snare with "supersensitive" type strainer system, looks to be a predecessor to the Tama King Beats.

6.5 x 14 Maple - Blue Sparkle

Just finished two snares up today (well, badges still have to go on, but I wanted to get these posted). This is a 6.5 x 14 built up on an 8 ply maple shell from Twin Cities Percussion (I also have a couple of 6 1/2 x 13 walnut-poplar-walnut shells from them I'll be turning into snares in the next couple of weeks). I installed rerings  (also 8 ply on this), and bearing edges are "vintagey" roundovers with a  45 inner cut. Lugs are vintage Gretsch, hoops are new Sticksaver hoops from Drum Factory Direct. Also purchased the strainer from them. New Pearl wires. The wrap is a nice blue sparkle.
