Walnut-Maple-Walnut 7 x 14

Just finished this snare up yesterday. It's built on a 7 x 14 shell, 5 plies of walnut and maple, from Stone Custom Drum (purchased it from another builder). Simple tung oil finish inside and out. All new hardware from Drum Factory Direct.
UPDATE - sold September 9, 2012

Hi, how does it sound? I've been to get a shell from them.

It's quite a nice shell. The snare has a fairly warm woody sound and some ring that could be muted with a Moongel or similar. It produces a lot of volume but sensitive enough for quiet ghostnotes ... I have some similar shells from Twin Cities Percussion (they are walnut-poplar-walnut) about the same thickness I'm about to build up - 6 1/2 x 13". I may install rerings on one.
